Something I hate: Interviews and client meetings mid/late afternoon.
Even thought tonight’s is with
a) People I like
b) In a nice place downtown
I still hate it.

Why?
Because I have to be dressed up ALL DAY. And people NOTICE.
ANTOINETTE: “Doug, you look so nice!”
DOUG: “…”
ANTOINETTE: “Not that you…usually don’t, or anything.”
DOUG: “It’s not for anything Marymount-related.”
ANTOINETTE: “Ohhhh.”

Rob had the same problem on the day of his big interview. And, well, it’s just irritating. That’s all I’m saying.

Last night wasn’t as much of a night off as I thought. Drama!
But it ended with beer and Katamari, so, everything evens out.

MU’s zip code is 22207. I moved there in 1999.
Columbia Commons was 22204. I moved there in 2002.
My new one?
22201.
MATH: PRETTY EXCITING.

Gmail’s new “drafts” thing is going to save me hours of time. Seriously. And probably result in fewer carefully-planned e-mails.

——

Verizon DSL apparently does not service my new place.
This bodes not well. NOT WELL.

are you kidding? dude, Verizon DSL sucks ass. a boy I know lives in 22201 (and lived in 22204 prior to 8/05) and has had speakeasy DSL for ages and it does him just fine. you will be better off away from the vz!

I actually have it, and it’s awesome.
I think DSL is kind of like cameras:
No one knows what’s good or bad, but we all have very mean opinions about certain brands because of stuff that happened to our friends.

Speakeasy, however, is something I hadn’t thought of. I’ll look immediately.

I think the big issue is that I DON’T WANT TO PAY FOR A LANDLINE. So, maybe Comcast’s cable/internet package is the way to go?

i don’t actually know anyone who has verizon dsl, i just read dslreports.

Oh! Goodness. I’d never thought of RESEARCH, oddly.

I don’t see, however, how Verizon couldn’t reach my apartment but someone else could. Physically. And the other companies won’t tell me if they can give me DSL or not unless I give them a phone number, so, I’d call Verizon to set up my phone, they’d say “Okay, but your line won’t work for DSL,” and then someone else will say “Oh yes it will?”

I think I’m stuck with Comcast. But I will continue to reseeeearch.
