And now, an obligatory rhetorical question that no one answers, discusses, or learns from, but that make me feel smarter:
WILL OPEN-SOURCE MEDIUMS BE CONTROLLED BY PARTIES WITH VESTED INTERESTS?
HMMMM.

It’s just like lobbying– it affects everyone who uses it because they’ll end up with bad information, but it all comes down to who cares the most. With Wikipedia though, I don’t think we have much to worry about– abuse will always be discovered and corrected cause it doesn’t cost anything to monitor what’s what.
Is anybody having a SOTU watching party? I can’t play the drinking game by myself. Well, I can, but that game is called alcoholism.
Yeah, the Wikipedia community is fantastic, and I’d like to assume most Wikipedia readers are smart enough to pick up on most forms of inserted propanda anyway (although item removal sure is hard to spot).
I know of no one who will have this party. I can’t imagine a quantity of alcohol that would make it tolerable, so I might try Thai food and tag-team obscenity-shouting instead.
Make sure you get all prepped by watching the ThinkProgress SOTU primer!
