Yeah, I saw the Shins tonight. And yeah, it was in a packed DAR hall with hundreds upon hundreds of Garden State fans, frat boys, and general on-lookers. But you know what? It still ruled. Even without the intimacy of a small club, the show was fantastic, blessed partially by the intricacy and power of the Shins’ source material. Instruments were swapped, legs were kicked, jokes were told, and “Turn A Square” was rocked beyond belief. Thank you, Shins, for bein’ so good. (And thank you Matt, for the tix)

Oh yay, I’m so glad to hear that - for your happiness and for selfish reasons… Booked to see them in London end of this month and then heard they were crap live, but suspected that was bollocks. Cool. Will write up that show in my last.fm inevitably, pretty small venue.

Hey, I booked for the Pitchfork festival. It was $45 so I thought what the hell, I might find a flight to Chicago under my pillow before then. I wonder who will play Don’t Look Back on the Friday… You goin’?

    You’re welcome!

PITCHFORK FESTIVAL. Damn. I wanna go. Every year I say I will but then I don’t. I don’t even know when it is this year. When is it?

Dude, I know you’re getting married and all, but really! It’s July 13 - 15. The three day passes are already sold out, but you can still buy a two day pass at a ridiculous $35, and a single pass for the Friday, should you wish, at $15. I think the Friday could be amazing. The whole idea of Don’t Look Back is so cool - last year I saw Low play through Things We Lost In The Fire. Pretty sure whoever they get will be knock out. Tickets on ticketweb or check out http://pitchforkmusicfestival.com/

I also have a question for you on your last.fm for when you next mosey over. And I’m loving Fionn Regan which I see was in one of your mixes a while back… I need to make a spring mix. It’s so lovely in London right now. Hurray for spring.
