Hello visitor name, I’m Doug Avery (formely Doug Nelson). I’ll get around to buying a new domain name when I damn well feel like it.
I’m a 26-year-old graphic designer living in McLean, Virginia. I’ve got one cat and many fine pieces of dishware.
I work with the awesome people at Viget Labs as a Web Designer, spend evenings and weekends with Lady Wifeington, and listen to copious amounts of indie rock, European dance music, and hip-hop. No other music kinds. Ever.
I go through various phases of self-improvement and self-undoing, so here’s what I’m currently into:
Waking up at 5:30 AM. It gives you more time in the day, makes you feel superior to others, and puts a sleepy, friendly haze over the day. Oh, and it’s really hard at first.
Wearing brown and gray. Everything always matches, and you always look vaguely wiser than others.
The gym. After figuring out the secrets of the gym (go in the morning when no one’s there and so you only have to shower once a day), I have determined that I like it.
