Bemani is Konami’s music video game division. Originally named the Games & Music Division, or simply GMD, it changed its name in honor of its first and most successful game, Beatmania, and expanded into other music-based games.

Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) is a scripting language developed at LucasArts (known at the time as Lucasfilm Games) to ease development of the graphical adventure game Maniac Mansion.
The SCUMM bar in The Secret of Monkey Island is named after the SCUMM scripting language. In it there is a man advertising Loom, another LucasArts game made using the SCUMM engine. The SCUMM bar is the victim of a hostile takeover in Escape from Monkey Island, being renamed Lua, a nod to the programming language which replaced the engine used for the previous games.
While watching this (WATCH IT) I found out that the Wiimote is actually a little camera, and the sensor bar is two lights that the camera reads to figure out distance/pitch/position from the screen.
I was a huge fan of Hitchhiker’s Guide and other Infocom and freeware titles back when I was rocking the Apple IIc, but didn’t realize interactive fiction had such a following today. Some of the games (like Galatea) sound fascinating, and I must play next time I get the PC laptop out.
I’ve always wondered what would happen if interactive fiction got a full team and development budget; without the drag of interface options, graphics, and computer compatibility, a group of designers could probably make something truly deep and expansive (like Dwarf Fortress, only with even FEWER graphics).

There is a gym in Seven Corners. It is behind some kind of “supercheap warehouse” establishment. It is almost always under-attended, and yet, only costs 10 dollars a month. That is all.

Carcassonne is a brilliantly simple and clever board game that takes five minutes to learn and an hour to play (and lose at). Check it out.
David Attenborough Documentaries
Seriously, these things are great. Mele and I rented Life In The Undergrowth and Life Of Birds, and couldn’t be more pleased.
